Introducing… DUMFRIES SHINE!

A brighter Dumfries begins with us.

We’re thrilled to officially launch Dumfries Shine — a new community-powered clean up initiative from the Dumfries Town Board, designed to bring our town centre back to life with civic pride, clean streets, and collective action!

From community clean-up events and volunteer-powered makeovers

To pop-up celebrations and local engagement projects —

Dumfries Shine is about turning up the energy, tuning in the love, and making our beautiful town sparkle like the gem it is.

But here’s the best part…

YOU are the heart of this. Local groups, families, schools, clubs AND businesses — everyone’s invited to help Dumfries shine brighter than ever.

We are piloting this initiative over the week commencing 1st of September 2025, from Monday to the Saturday with Saturday being the final clean up and a celebration at the Midsteeple Plain stanes where music and food will be available.

There will be music, laughter, brushes, buckets, and a whole lot of town spirit!

Because together, we’re not just cleaning streets — We’re creating a Dumfries we can all be proud of.
